Background of the mural:
Behind this murals, there's a story about how traditional bakeries and mooncake-making became part of the everyday life and cultural heritage of Padungan. Rather than focusing on one famous individual, this mural represents the people and businesses that kept traditional pastry-making alive through generations.
This mural represents traditional Chinese food heritage which is Mooncake, that are closely associated with Chinese cultural traditions especially during the Mid-Autumn Festival. It also represents the generations of local bakers who preserved traditional pastry-making and made these foods part of the community's cultural memories.
Through the mural, a disappearing trade is transformed into a visual record of Padungan's history.
